As we prepare for an exciting Spring season, we want to take a moment to reinforce the policies and procedures that ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone involved. Please take the time to review our league policies here: Sykesville Baseball Policies.

One critical issue that must be addressed immediately is parking at Fairhaven—specifically in the lot that Fogle's Septic Service generously allows us to use (near Field #1 and the football fields). There have already been incidents involving Sykesville Baseball parents driving too fast and parking in unauthorized areas. This has resulted in direct warnings, and we have been made explicitly aware that we will receive no further chances. If these violations continue, we risk permanently losing access to this lot, which would create even greater parking challenges at Fairhaven—no one wants this.

As a direct response to these preseason issues, we have made the difficult decision to once again have a presence from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department during the week and on weekends at Fairhaven. The fact that our program must absorb this additional expense is disappointing, but it has become necessary to ensure compliance with our policies.

Additionally, we want to be crystal clear—respect is non-negotiable. It costs nothing to listen and comply when a Board Member or a member of Fogle's staff corrects a violation. Moving forward, Sykesville Baseball will enforce a zero-tolerance policy regarding inappropriate behavior toward our volunteers, Fogle's staff, umpires, or fellow families. If you cannot conduct yourself respectfully and model appropriate behavior for your children, this program is not the right place for you.
